Academic Standards

The Principal will endeavor to raise the academic standards of the School, for achieving this:-

• Utmost care will be taken to employ well-qualified and competent staff.
• Strength of a class will not be allowed to exceed 30-32 students.
• A high order of discipline among staff and students will be ensured.
• The old and orthodox teaching techniques will be replaced by new and effective ones.
• Teachers will adopt polite behaviour in the course of teaching.
• Teachers will maintain a ready reckoner of their day to day work and will update Teacher’s Diaries/ Planners.
• Principal/ Section Heads will check minimum 10% homework of the students once in each month.
• Detailed/ block syllabus and distribution of periods for each subject will be prepared by each teacher and approved by the Principal/ Section Head.
• Class diary/ notebook for entering progress and the position of students in class/ subjects will be properly maintained by respective teachers in the classroom (at teacher’s desk) for necessary evaluate by the Principal/ Section Head.
• Homework will not be made a mental strain over a average student, rather it will be based on the class work and not something over and above.
• Homework will be checked regularly by respective subject teachers.
• Quarterly/ monthly check point tests will be held and results will be forwarded to parents and Chairman EC.

Curriculum

• Syllabus.
  The syllabus, textbooks and academic schedule of APSACS will be followed; however, for Senior Section, schedule of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad will be observed.
• Breakdown of Syllabus/ Scheme of Studies.
  Principal of the APS will prepare a scheme of studies at the beginning of the academic year for each subject showing the part of the syllabi to be covered in each term. It will be ensured that the scheme so prepared is properly followed.
• Affiliation.
  The APSs are affiliated with Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad.

Co- Curricular/ Extra – Curricular Activities

• Emphasis will be laid on all activities that are contributory to intellectual, moral and physical development of the students.
• Declamation, debates and quiz competitions will be organised regularly. Games like football, baseball, cricket, basketball, volley ball etcetera will be organised for the physical upbringing of the students.

Conduct of Evening Coaching Classes.

Evening coaching classes will be organised in School for low weak students, especially in the science subjects. Teachers will be bound to take these classes after School timings whenever The School plans weak classes. Proper attention will be paid to these students for improving academic results.
